“Ceramic Techniques for Porcelain Jewellery” with Sandra Black

This workshop will be hands-on and include demonstrations using both plastic and slip cast cone 6 Cool Ice porcelain. Participants will explore surface decoration techniques using textures, carved piercing, coloured clays and tissue transfers to create interesting surfaces for porcelain jewellery.

“Goddess, Dragons and Auspicious Clouds” A journey to Jingdezhen.

Noted Western Australian ceramist, Sandra Black, has returned from a 4-week artist’s residency at the Potters Workshop in the city of Jingdezhen, China. Join Sandra as she discusses slides taken during her residency and exchange of ideas. Sandra says “This city is ‘history in place’ being where the use of porcelain was first discovered and became important during the dynasties that followed.”
