The Western Australian Government would like to welcome you to the Great Southern Region for the annual Southern Art and Craft Trail.
Celebrating its 10th
year, the Southern Art and Craft Trail has grown to become a popular event, attracting around 9,000 people to admire the extraordinary talents of more than 300 artists and craft practitioners.
Around 70 exhibits will showcase a great range of paintings, sculptures, photography, printmaking, stained glass and jewellery across a number of diverse venues including galleries, studios, wineries, community halls, retail outlets and restaurants.
The State Government is proud to support the Southern Art and Craft Trail through Eventscorp's Regional Events Scheme, which is jointly funded by Royalties for Regions.
Local events make a positive contribution to regional communities by adding vibrancy and making a town an exciting place to visit, and a great place to live.
We would like to congratulate the event organisers for their hard work in growing the event over the past 10 years and hope everyone enjoys the spectacular exhibits.
The event provides a great opportunity for visitors to combine art and culture with adventure and nature, by enjoying the extraordinary experiences of the Great Southern region such as the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk, whale watching or simply tasting the premium fine wine and local produce.

ArtsouthWA welcomes you to the 2012 Bendigo Bank Southern Art and Craft Trail.
Winner of the 2010 Premier’s Australia Day Active Citizenship Award for an Event
.
The Southern Art & Craft Trail is an initiative of Artsouthwa Inc., an organisation formed to promote and market fine art and craft created by artists living and working in the Great Southern region of Western Australia and to assist art and craft practitioners, organisations and galleries with professional and skills development. To this end Artsouthwa conducts projects including this Trail, workshops, exhibitions and the management and maintenance of an online database of its member artists, galleries and community groups www.artsouthwa.com.au.
We hope you enjoy exploring the many studios, galleries and other venues hosting the varied exhibitions that make up this Trail. The exhibitions you will see range from experienced, professional artists to those who work part-time or as a hobby, but all want to share their creativity with you. Similarly, venues range from commercial galleries to displays in unusual places, even some in artist’s homes. We hope you enjoy them all.
This, our 10th year, sees two special events to mark this occasion. You will see full details about the “Silhouette” event and the “Decade” exhibition under ArtEXTRAS. We have continued to present different dimensions to the Trail with several venues presenting art and craft demonstrations and one of the exhibiting artists will present a painting workshop.
